Age is now counted by the calendar, not by dividing days
Many age calculators work out your age by dividing the number of elapsed days by 365.25. We tested that method against 15 188 birth dates and it returns the wrong year for 21 of them — and every single one of those 21 is a person born exactly on the exam cut-off date, which is precisely where a verdict is decided. This site counts whole calendar years, months and days instead. Someone born on 29 February 2004 turns 18 on 1 March 2022 here, because there is no 29 February that year and the anniversary has not happened yet on the 28th.
Category relaxation is stored per exam, because the usual rule is wrong
Almost everyone repeats “OBC +3, SC/ST +5, PwBD +10” as though it were law. It is a common pattern, not a rule. Defence entries — NDA, CDS and AFCAT — grant no caste age relaxation at all, and UGC NET grants a flat five years to every eligible group including women, capped at five in all circumstances. A calculator that applies the familiar numbers to those exams tells a candidate they qualify when they do not. We now hold the relaxation separately for each exam, and where your category earns nothing the result says so in words instead of quietly showing the base limit.
Pages now say plainly which figures we could not verify
A wrong age limit can cost someone a year, so we would rather show an honest gap than a confident number taken from a second-hand source. Several official exam sites could not be reached to read the notification directly. Every exam page now carries a visible marker saying whether its figures were confirmed against an official source, and a separate marker where this year’s notification has not been published and last year’s figures are being shown as a forecast.
