CDS age limit: are you eligible?

Combined Defence Services Examination · Union Public Service Commission

General category

19 – 25 years

measured on stated as a born-between date window, and it differs per academy.

This year’s notification is not out yet. These figures come from the previous one. They are here so you can plan — not as this year’s official limits.

We have not been able to confirm these figures against the official notification. Check the source below before you rely on them.

Check your own date of birth

Your age is measured on the cut-off date, not today — which is why knowing your age is not the same as knowing whether you qualify.

Your date of birth and category stay in this browser. They are not sent to our server, not put in the page address and not written to any log.

Age relaxation by category

This exam gives no category age relaxation.

Not «we do not have the data» — none is granted. The upper limit above is the same for General, OBC, SC, ST and PwBD candidates alike. A calculator that adds the usual +3 or +5 here would tell you that you qualify when you do not.

What the number above does not tell you

🔴 CDS gives NO caste age relaxation, and the window DIFFERS BY ACADEMY (IMA, INA, AFA and OTA each have their own, and OTA runs later than the rest). Marital status also applies to several entries. The years below are the widest common span — read the academy-wise table.
